Louder

(October 2023 - in progress)

Overview

After the most popular platform that bands use to promote their music, sell merchandise, and communicate with fans was purchased (and thusly sold) by a much larger company, laying off a massive percentage of the staff, I realized that there could be a more efficient way to achieve the relevant results and much more. I set out to create a mobile app that seamlessly blends the needs of musical artists with social and commercial aspects.

Role

UX Designer

Responsibilities

Conduct user research and usability studies, wireframing and prototyping designs, and iterating upon the designs while accounting for accessibility needs.

The problem:

The current standards for promoting music, finding new music, selling related merchandise, and keeping in contact with other bands and fans are obscured by design that doesn’t put the user first. When booking shows, current platforms make it extremely difficult to communicate between parties due to hidden “message requests” and a lack of reminders.

The goal:

Design a mobile app that seamlessly guides an artist through the processes mentioned in “the problem.” Make the application usable by anyone and promote growth within the music industry.
